HAIB Monthly Ukraine Peace Prayer (Every 4th Sunday, October 23)

HAIB Monthly Ukraine Peace Prayer

The meditation leader for this month is

Markus Myō-on Mars (Audible Peace)

Myō-on (they/them) worked as a live and studio musician, DJ, and music producer in Europe, the USA, and Hawai’i for 25 years. They started offering Audible Peace™ meditations online and in person in 2020 after returning from a Vipassana meditation in the S.N. Goenka tradition in Pokhara, Nepal.

Audible Peace™ (www.audiblepeace.com) is a reflective sound bath and sound-guided awareness meditation composed live to support sitting with difficult questions without expecting easy answers. The focus is on restoring collective attention to shared responsibilities without spiritual bypassing.

Myō-on is inspired by Thich Nhat Hanh’s tradition of engaged Buddhism. After being invited to join Rev. Jiko Nakade’s Heart Sutra class, they received the Buddhist precepts in 2022 at Daifukuji Soto Mission. Myō-on means wondrous sound and voice of Avalokiteshvara bodhisattva.

Myō-on studied classical and electric violin, music production, and acting in Vienna and Linz, Austria, and moved to Hawaii in 2015, where they co-founded Edible Peace™ (www.ediblepeace.com) in 2018. Myō-on studies philosophy at UH Hilo to deepen their knowledge of different traditions and simply for the love of wisdom.
